Hard Boiled Eggs

I consider myself pretty good in the kitchen. I have cooked turkey and dressing for Thanksgiving, made enchalidas from scratch, and experimented with various new receipes over the years. But I seem to have a problem with simple things...like making egg salad and making hard boiled eggs.

Yesterday afternoon, as I was getting ready to leave work for the day, I asked my mom how to make egg salad. She and my brother looked at me like I had lost my head and then started to laugh. I tried to explain myself but it just didn't matter. I then said that the main problem was that I couldn't remember how to hard boil eggs. More laughter from my brother.

I have probably asked my mother and Carole 10 or more times how to make hard boiled eggs. For some reason I just can't get it to stick in my head. It seems that my problem is that I am great as long as I have a receipe to follow...but I don't have a receipe card for hard boiling eggs or making egg salad. And honestly...I just don't remember from one time to the next....

So I guess I am doomed to asking how to hard boil eggs until the day that I die. I guess it could always be worse...but having my brother laugh at me because I don't know how to make egg salad is pretty bad....
