Colorado Springs
Well...we made it home from our week long vacation to Colorado Springs. We did just about everything there is to do in Colorado Springs and it will take several posts to detail everything.
I have to say that the weather was GREAT!!! So much better than Texas in the summer. Nights were in the upper 40's to low 50's and the days were never too hot! I think one of the most memorable parts of the trip was Monday night, the 4th of July. We went to the huge park in the center of Colorado Springs for the fireworks. We took our blankets and sat out on the grass. As the sun went down it became quite chilly...enough to put on jackets and comment on how cool it was for the 4th of July. I have to say...I have NEVER had to wear a jacket to watch fireworks because it was TOO chilly!
However, that is all a distant memory now. We are back to 100 degree days and nights where the temperature doesn't fall below 80. And on top of the heat is the humidity. One moring when we were in Colorado Springs that weather man said that the humidity was 18%. 18%!!! wow
And that was AFTER it had rained quite a bit the day before. I wonder if the humidity is EVER that LOW here in Texas?
