Wedding Woes

Planning a wedding is too much work. Thank goodness I have a coordinator to help me out. Our current stress is a suitable reception site. I make this more difficult because I am finding that I am more picky than I thought. For instance....

I don't want to have the reception in a regular hotel ballroom. The carpet is usually ugly in hotels...and then there the hideous chair covers. Mom says that I won't be thinking about carpet on my wedding day...I beg to differ. If it is ugly and I hate it...well...I will have pictures to document ugly carpet the rest of my life.

Am I just completely crazy? I never thought I would agonize over stupid little stuff like that...but here I am agonizing.

Oh well...Nathan and Mom keep telling me that it will all be okay and work out in the end...of course that doesn't help NOW. :)

Looking back on my wedding: I wish we'd had chair covers. The venue had just ordered new chairs & so I had no way of knowing what they'd even look like.

So, if you hate the chairs @ some place--cover them!

If you hate the carpet...well, no advice there....

I had mine @ The Scottish Rite Cathedral in downtown Dallas.

Susan had hers at The Adolphus. I cant remember the carpet at all!

Susan's sister had hers at...oh, I forget...it's downtown...they just opened a new area to this building/venue...I forget the name.

The Rotunda @ Chase Tower: awesome looking, horrible acoustics!

DMA...where I would have had the wedding & reception had I been able to afford the venue plus all the other stuff I wanted at the wedding. They have no carpet in there! But, if you book one portion that we were looking at, there are huge glass flowers on the windows...they stay...no matter what...they are multicolored. If you like them or can get past them, then they will be great. I had a black/white/red/silver wedding. Multicolored flowers were a deal-breaker.

You'll get it all figured out.
Hang in there!!!
